Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta, Gorgeous Resort

My husband and I have just returned from a week at the Mayan Palace. We loved this resort and had a wonderful vacation. Our timeshare room was a one bedroom suite facing the pool and ocean in the Yellow building. We were on the 4th floor. We loved being so close to the ocean and being able to hear the waves on the beach from our room, it was very soothing. We found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and helpful. The resort is beautiful and the restaurants were excellent.

A few tips:

Request 4th floor or above for best view.

Yellow or Red buildings are close to Ocean. Blue building has a more expansive view but is not so close to the beach.

Don’t buy a phone card at the airport as we did because they don’t work very well and the resort charges $2.00 each time you use it. It is cheaper to use your cell phone.

If you want more action i.e. bars, shops, consider staying closer to Puerto Vallarta. This resort is peaceful and relaxing, quiet in the evening. We are a couple in our early 50’s, there were a lot of guests our age and older, a few families with small children and very few teens or young people.

Finally, have patience and speak slowly, this is Mexico and life moves at a slower pace, enjoy it, we had a wonderful time.
