Mayan Palace Vallarta
Welcome to a vacationer’s paradise.
Great experience
We stayed at the Mayan Place Nuevo Vallarta Valentines week 2007. What a great experience. There were 10 of us from 3 generations. We booked two of the 2 bedroom/2bathroom suites. Plenty of room. The kitchens and living area were enough to hold all 10 of us when we got together. I especially like the king size bed and listening to the music through the open sliding door at night. The music came from the open bar area behind the main desk. We had a golf course view room which suited us just fine as the palm trees blocked most of the ocean view from that side of the building anyway.
The pool was warm and fun. It closed at 9 and the kids wanted to swim much later. Hung out at the pool a lot. We participated in many resort acitivities. The kids and some adults like painting ceramics at the east end of the pool. The vendors fixed them up after our poor painting effort and made them masterpieces.
There are many workers at the Mayan and the grounds are very well kept. The beach was nice and we used the free Boogie boards from the mayan. Walked the beach daily but it was quite dark at night so bring a flashlight.
Took many taxi’s into Puerto for activities and supper. Just budget taxi fare into your stay and you will be fine. Did take the bus a few times too..crowded but pleasant overall. Loved the local resturants and did eat once at the Mayan (Tumtah) resturant on the beach. That was a bit more expensive but good food and service.
We all decided that the Mayan Nuevo fit our needs well and we are very happy with our decision to purchase a week stay from our friend who owns a few time shares there.
Speaking of time share…. We were only approached once the whole time there about time shares (outside of the awful airport … just keep walking fast through the 2 glass doors). When we arrived at the Mayan we were offered a time share presentation with free breakfast for us all and 10% off all the bar/resturant purchases while we were there. Not really worth our time we figured so we politely declined and that was the end of that. Not one other timeshare offer was ever given to us…in or out of the resort. Much different that what we expected. My husband was even willing to go on a time share presentation if the offer was good.
Loved the Mayan Palace Nuevo.
