We arrived at the beautiful Mayan Palace for the first time and the first thing that they did after we were registered was to set up an appointment for the time share. We’ve been to time share presentations before but not like this. Forget all of the freebees that they offer you. It is not worth the time spent. They said it would like to give us a ninety minute presentation on their facilities. Five hours later they they are still trying to pressure you into buying a unit. First the saleman, then his boss and when you say NO they bring in the the manager. Read the rest of this entry »

SKEPTICS!!!! Read this review!

I read plenty of reviews before I left on my trip, several talked about the hotel, too far to walk, time share trap, crappy beach, ect. I’m here to set things straight. These people would complain about anything, trust me!

I’m a veteran of Mexican travel, and we are especially fond of Puerto Vallarta. Having never stayed at the marina, we decided to try the Mayan Palace and were very disappointed. The average customer is clearly not a priority there. Here are some examples.

Our stay at the Mayan Palace Marina was as a guest of a timeshare owner. We purchased a week, at a cost that covered the owner’s maintence. Win-win for both of us. The resort is a short 5 minute 50 peso ($5. US) cab fare from the airport. Prefer the Marina location. It is flanked by The Westin and Marriott Resorts. The property is 1st Class. Some 900 employees maintain it and everyone greets you with a hello and smile. Read the rest of this entry »

We stayed for the week of Jan 12-19, after staying the week of Jan 5-12 at the Mayan Sea Garden in Nuevo Vallarta. We booked through RCI extra vacations. We don’t own Mayan Palace weeks. But the beauty was (and was is important) that the extra vacations didn’t carry any 1 in 4 or 5 rules. That HAS changed. Now we can’t exchange or get extra vacations to a Mayan property for the next 5 years, a bummer. We have stayed at Mayans in Cancun (south), Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta (twice), and Nuevo Vallarta (twice). We love the Mayan Palaces. They are noninclusive, have good restaurants and are beautiful and spotless.

We stayed at the Mayan Palace in the Marina area the first week in december and had a lovely time. This was our first time to Puerta Vallarta and had 10 wonderful days. We also spent 4 days at two other properties so had a chance to compare different places and locations. First let me say this about timeshare salesman and beach vendors: We never found a beach vendors that bothered us after we said no gracias, smiled, and kept doing what we were doing. They are just trying to earn a living and seem to be very well mannered and polite. Read the rest of this entry »

My husband, my two kids, and I stayed at the Mayan Palace in Puerto during Christmas week. To sum it up, this resort is a excellent place to stay, and I highly recommend. Although we are not owners, we have stayed at two other Mayan Palace resorts in different Mexico locations, so we knew what to expect at the resort for the most part. I often read trip advisor reviews before and after I have stayed somewhere. Surprising, how different the experiences or perceptions by guests can be. Here’s few things about our recent trip that may help. Read the rest of this entry »
