Great Relaxing Honeymoon Resort

Our Honeymoon was amazing at the Mayan Palace Resort. We stayed for a week and wanted to stay longer! The pool and the activites there were great. The Resort is fantastic and clean. It wasn’t as expensive to eat at the pool as I had previously heard. Charging stuff to the room is a plus! We ate at the resort a few time. The chicken tacos and the nachos are pretty amazing. The staff is sooo friendly. Read the rest of this entry »

Great hotel, great location

We came prepared to dodge any timeshare solicitation. We firmly said no and they did not bother us again after check in. That took care of any unpleasant experience that influenced the negative reviews in this website. Nonetheless a lady placed wristbands on us stating that we needed to wear those to be allowed around the premises. Read the rest of this entry »
Nice but not great!

Upon arrival the Airport timeshare folks are on you like fly’s on [–]. Stay away and go directly out to the curb and get your own taxi. Its a quick ride should only cost about $5.00-$8.00. I read several reviews before I booked so I knew what to expect. We prefered a balcony room with seating. Read the rest of this entry »

Mayan Palace is disappointing waste of RCI trade

We used our timeshare and traded to the Mayan Palace for two weeks–big mistake. The grounds are beautiful, but the rooms are glorified Motel 6 rooms. I own at a beautiful resort (Vistana, FL) and to trade to something so low on the scale was a great disappopintment. Upon seeing the rooms we went right back to the front desk to ask for a transfer to the Grand Mayan. Read the rest of this entry »
Enjoyed the Nuevo Vallarta Mayan Palace

The Mayan Palace consists of two large condo units - the older, smaller one near the beach / pool and the larger one further away. (Remember this is not the Grand Mayan). Read the rest of this entry »
Nice but not my favorite Mayan Palace

I bought at Mayan Palace Riveria Mayan several years ago. I have always loved that property and never visited another Mayan Palace. I decided to explore new properties and went to Puerto Vallarta on June 18, 2007.

Ok, so I read all the reviews before I left for Mexico on the 20th of May and I was terrified. I almost considered booking with a different hotel, but decided to take me chances. The Mayan Palace was GREAT, and the staff was VERY friendly. We arrived to PV on the 20th of May at almost Midnight and even then the staff was friendly, the bellboys wouldn’t let us lift a finger, and the front desk got us into our rooms very efficiently and quickly. Mother - Daughter Getaway

I read the other trip advisor reviews before we checked in to our RCI exchange week and I kept my expectations reasonably in tact. The check- in was extremely efficient and the front desk people were more than hospitable. The rooms were extremely clean upon arrival and the view was amazing. I agree with the previous guests in that the balconys in the main building were really nice. They had a great view and chairs to sit and admire the view. The building closest to the ocean has rather non-useful balconies that really serve no function other to enjoy the view. Read the rest of this entry »
Mostly good

We have stayed at other Mayan Palace properties (Mazatlan and Riviera Maya) and decided to give Nuevo Vallarta a try based on other vacationers recommendations. Overall the place is nice. More walking than the Riviera Maya location, which isn’t necessarily bad. Poolside food was very good and good service. The Nuevo location does not add a mandatory gratuity on your bill, so you tip as you like and we generally overtipped but had excellent service. Read the rest of this entry »
